Interview Tips

Most interview tips documents that you will see on recruitment agency’s web sites are very generic and will not provide you with much information. This document is available when you attend an interview with FMC, at which point your consultant will spend a great deal of time preparing you for the interview.

In the meantime, here are some generic tips:

Interview Tips

  • The most common reasons for candidates being rejected are:
  • Not doing research on the company.
  • Not showing enough motivation to work there. You need to have an answer that specific reason why you want to work for them, not a reason you can move from company to company.
  • Going off in tangents and not showing a great depth of knowledge of your subject matter.
  • Giving weak examples to competency questions.
  • Saying we not I when answering questions.  You must tell the interviewer what you did not what the team did.
  • Not giving tangible answers to questions.  In today's climate results are essential and any company wanting to take you on board would want you to demonstrate the results you have delivered.  If you don't do this you come across as too high level and theoretical.
  • One key question to insure you have an answer for is what tangible business benefits did you bring your last company or what benefits will come in time due to the result of your architecture.
